I created a new subfolder in my Tetradome Run folder today. Draft 21.
In the first 20 drafts, created over the past two years, the plot has evolved, characters have been created and dropped, and the setting has changed multiple times.
As I wrap up Draft 20, the story is pretty much set. Draft 21 will be about copy-editing chapters that are already written.
Thank God.
We’re getting close, friends. Thank you for your patience. When I started this novel I didn’t know it would be a 2-year journey from the opening day of work to the final draft, but I’ve learned to accept the work in whatever form it takes. This is my longest novel, with a plot several orders of magnitude more complex than any I’ve ever written.
