Live By Night by Dennis Lehane

Currently reading: Live by Night by Dennis Lehane. Halfway through. Really digging it. The novel is about bootleggers and mobsters in the roaring 20’s. I love mob novels. Someday, when Girls Wearing Black is done, I might write a prequel-ish story or two about Daciana’s rise to power in the American mob.

Currently writing: Working on what I hope will be the final draft of Girls Wearing Black 3. Today will be starting on Chapter 7 and cranking along as far as I can go. I’m hopeful I can have this book published by late February.

Looking forward to: Tomorrow night we have babysitters! Wife and I are going to the movies. We’re either seeing Argo or Zero Dark Thirty. Haven’t decided yet. And Sunday is the conference championships in the NFL. I’m predicting Patriots over 49ers in the Super Bowl, but would be happy to see the Falcons sneak in there too.

For more than 15 years Spencer Baum wrote blistering pageturners with sci fi and horror elements.

His first novel was used as a textbook in a Harvard classroom and was optioned for a movie by Brand New Productions in Hollywood. His second novel was an Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Semifinalist. His Girls Wearing Black novels have been fantasy and suspense bestsellers on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.

Though he was able to make a living from his books during the early years of the digital publishing revolution, the changing nature of that marketplace meant that he had to rejoin the real world in 2019 following publication of his final novel, The Tetradome Run.
