I am so thankful for my readers. This year I found myself in the wonderful, amazing predicament of not being able to write the newest book fast enough. Answering reader emails and Facebook messages asking for the release date of Book 3 has been a daily ritual for me in 2013, and for that, I am thrilled.
Thank you for your excitement, for your notes of encouragement, and for your patience.
Tonight, I am far enough along in the process to quote a release date. Between the revisions left to do, the final proofing after the revisions, and the final, final proofing after that, I am confident the ebook will be ready by the second week of July. And because the different retailers move at different speeds once I upload the book, I should warn those of you on Nooks and iPads that the second week of July is as precise as I can quote. Amazon is usually live within 24 hours of me uploading the ebook. Barnes & Noble takes anywhere from a day to a week. Last year, Apple took 2 -3 weeks, although I’m hearing from other authors that Apple is usually going live within a few days now.
I will upload the ebook to all retailers on July 10, meaning it will be for sale on Amazon on July 11. and everywhere else as soon as the retailers make it so.
Please note that this date is just for the ebook. The paperback won’t be ready until the end of July, with an estimated go-live date of July 31st.
While we’re talking schedule, let’s talk about the rest of the week on this blog.
On Wednesday, I’m going to write a post on the significance of July 11 for me as a reader and a fantasy writer.
On Friday, I’m going to reveal the title, cover, and blurb of Girls Wearing Black 3.
I look forward to seeing you around and chatting with you all on Facebook, and I’m excited to get the new book in your hands!
